To clarify what organtransplantation should be, this research investigated recognition of brain death and organtransplantation by 308 adults of 20-65 years. As their awareness to brain death, many of them grasped the meaning of it, but could not judge the relation between brain death and human death. As their impressions of brain death, many of them regarded it as the state of well-maintained function of the liver or heart. In the subjects who regarded brain death as human death, many of them wanted to offer their organs(donor). If someone of subject's family fell brain death and declared oneself for being donor before one's death the subjects who respected one's intention was most.
