Kumamoto earthquake, occurred on April 14th and 16th, 2016, and successive after quake caused huge damage to the Kumamoto citizen. Many schools in the Kumamoto city could not run their works and the students could not study at their schools during the first month after the quake. The purpose of this study is to estimate the physical fitness level for the elementary and junior high school students in Mashiki town. Significant decrease in the endurance running capacity was observed for the junior high school students, and reduction of the fitness level for many factors, such as instantaneous force, agility, muscle strength, and endurance running capacity, was observed for the elementary school students. These results seem to be caused by the decreased activity levels of the students during the first month after the earthquake, and therefore, make clear that daily and sport activities at the school are very important to the fitness level for the elementary and junior high school students.
