The subjects were 228 university students, mainly freshmen. Their homeroom teacher\u0027s P-M leadership patterns, and school morale (class activities, learning activities, and mental and physical stability) were examined as well as the school size (the number of classrooms per grade) and the class size (the number of students of the class) when they were in the fifth grade. The main findings are as follows : 1. Class activities and mental/physical stability were higher in the PM and the M leadership patterns than in the P and pm patterns ; learning activities were the highest in the PM pattern, followed by the M, P, and pm patterns in this order, with the pm pattern the lowest. 2. 内容記述 | The present study attempted to analyze the relationships between the school and class size and the homeroom teacher's P-M leadership patterns and their effects on school morale. The subjects were 228 university students, mainly freshmen. Their homeroom teacher's P-M leadership patterns, and school morale (class activities, learning activities, and mental and physical stability) were examined as well as the school size (the number of classrooms per grade) and the class size (the number of students of the class) when they were in the fifth grade. The main findings are as follows : 1. Class activities and mental/physical stability were higher in the PM and the M leadership patterns than in the P and pm patterns ; learning activities were the highest in the PM pattern, followed by the M, P, and pm patterns in this order, with the pm pattern the lowest. 2. As to the relationships between the school/class size and the frequency of the P-M leadership pattern, the larger the school/class size, the lower the frequency of the PM pattern, with the pm pattern increasing significantly ; the smaller the school/class size, the higher the frequency of the PM pattern, with the pm pattern decreasing significantly. | |||||
