In this study, we focus on the process of \"seeing\" and \"thinking\" in the act of appreciation of art. Because the phase of \"knowing\" is not essential to the children of the middle stage in the primary school. To give these children too much knowledge about an artwork might prevent them from stimulating and enhancing their imagination. In this practice we selected P. Bruegel\u0027s \"The Conversion of Saul\" as a material of appreciation of art. This painting has many interesting traits such as the sheer contrast of the smallness of Saul submerged in the crowd and the unlimited vastness of nature. The children of Kamisikimi Primary School succeeded in detecting the essential traits of Bruegel\u0027s painting by means of observing it intensively and comparing it some paintings of\u0027the same 内容記述 | This study seeks to find an effective form of practice of appreciation of art in the primary school. In this study, we focus on the process of "seeing" and "thinking" in the act of appreciation of art.
