In the downtown of Kumamoto city, we must pay bicycle parking fee from June 1, 2012. And the authorities strengthened crackdown on street bicycle parking. Instead, using bicycle parking lot less than 2 hours, we can free use. As a result, the number of bicycles that are left on the sidewalk significantly decreased. However, in the arcade around, there is a tendency that the number of on-street parking is increased on holidays, rather than weekdays. In addition, the utilization rate of bicycle parking will be lower as the distance from the
center has also been found.
