我々は意思決定能力を欠いた患者の治療拒否を尊重すべきか ワレワレ ワ イシ ケッテイ ノウリョク オ カイタ カンジャ ノ チリョウ キョヒ オ ソンチョウ スベキカ Should we respect an incompetent patient's refusal of treatment? 浅井, 篤 アサイ, アツシ Asai, Atsushi 石本, 博子 イシモト, ヒロコ Ishimoto, Hiroko 490.15 Should we respect treatment refusal of incompetent patients who cannot decide for\ themselves? What principle or reason could justify compulsory interventions against the patients' will? This paper deliberates various factors that possibly influence our attitudes toward an incompetent patient's refusal of treatment. Issues discussed would include standard treatments at a given time in a given culture, advance directives, perpetuity of incompetency, nature of refused\ interventions, alternatives, emergency, ethical and medical uncertainty, our\ discriminatory feeling, human dignity, fundamental liberty, and patient's moral\ obligations.
