天王山における「里山の荒廃」と「竹林拡大」の関係性 テンノウザン ニオケル サトヤマ ノ コウハイ ト チクリン カクダイ ノ カンケイセイ The Relation of "SATOYAMA Devastation" and "Bamboo Forest Expantion" in Tennozan 吉田, 国光 ヨシダ, クニミツ Yoshida, Kunimitsu 651.1 天王山 里山の荒廃 竹林拡大 1990年代後半以降、里山保全が注目されるようになり、全国各地で森林保全活動が多様な形態で取り組まれるようになった。里山保全を推進するうえで、「里山の荒廃」と「竹林拡大」は二項対立的に位置づけられ、タケは排除すべき対象にされる傾向にある。しかし、「竹林拡大」が「里山の荒廃」に直接的に結びつけるためには不確定な要素も多く残されている。本稿では、日本有数のタケノコ産地であった天王山周辺地域を取り上げ、タケノコ産地が減退するなかで、竹林の分布状況や竹林の放棄に対する当該地域の保全活動を検討することから、当該地域において「里山の荒廃」と「竹林拡大」がどのような関係性にあるのかを明らかにした。その結果、天王山においては「天王山の荒廃」が問題意識となって、竹林ボランティアなどによって竹林整備はなされたが、「荒廃」の要因が「竹林拡大」に収斂されることはなく、竹林はこれまでの産業的利用のなされていた竹林の状態を保つように整備されていた。 In promotion of the maintenance of "SATOYAMA", "SATOYAMA devastation" and "Bamboo forest expansion" tend to be understood inbinary opposition. However, it is assumed that it is difficult to find an immediate interrelation between these popular believes. In this paper, it was clarified what the relation of "SATOYAMA devastation" and "bamboo forest expansion". The case study area was Tennozan. As a result, "devastation of Tennozan" became the critical mind in the decisive point, and Chikurin volunteers accomplished maintenance of bamboo forest.
