A close analysis of the pericope shows 1) that the relation between two  parties(the neighbour and the one encouraged to love him)is potentially conflictual and often asymmetrical: i.e.,the latter is required to yield his advantage to the former,who is in difficulty, 2) that receiving the commandments involves accepting his own history,where he was saved by the Lawgiver's love despite of his unworthiness,and 3) that he is invited to imitate God by his own practice of loving his neighbours.
