| 内容記述 | According to the present Course of Studies in Japan, competencies include knowledge, skills, meta-learning, and character. Cross-cutting competencies, that are understood as transversal, multifunctional and context-independent, are necessary for all learners and have to be developed by means of the cross-curricular approaches. Thus, in this article, from the theoretical and practical viewpoints, firstly historical perspectives of the cross-curricular approaches are reviewed and secondly contemporary issues are highlighted. As a conclusion, it is the intrinsic issues that there are two approaches to develop cross-cutting competencies, that is, one is context-dependent approach towards the development of holistic competences and the other is situated learning approach towards the development of portable, dependable and sustainable competences. | |||||||||||
