So that junior high school students can implement desirable lifestyle habits, we conducted health education to nurture these qualities and abilities. These classes combined answers to questions about the health of all students as perceived by the Junior High School Student Health Committee and reviewed classes using health newsletters and verified the effects. As a result, “awareness of the relationship between eye health and concentration on learning,” “willingness to learn about health education,” “willingness to implement future actions to protect eye health,” “knowledge of eye health and vision,” and “current implementation of actions to protect eye health” scored significantly higher after the class. Based on these results, in cooperation with the activities of the Student Health Committee, rather than teaching children how to behave correctly and implement health-related behavior, classes should aim to deepen their knowledge and awareness of children's health. This health education combined with reviews from health news is clarified as being effective in increasing children's motivation to take desirable actions related to health. |
