| 内容記述 | The goal of health education in schools is for students to acquire the qualities and abilities to proactively maintain and improve their physical and mental health. It is necessary for school nurses with specialized knowledge to actively participate in the educational curriculum. On the other hand, it cannot be said that there are many such initiatives in actual schools. We focused on the usefulness of fostering children’s independence. We then decided to consider how health education practices should be carried out as school nurses, based on examples of health education classes centered on fostering children’s independence and activities of child health committees. In a health education class for fifth graders, the students reflected on their own actions during two hours of discussion, and it was possible to see a growing desire to aim for better behavior. In addition, in the activities of the child health committee, which is made up of 5th and 6th grade students, each committee member was able to carry out health awareness activities and hand washing awareness activity plans based on the teacher’s encouragement. Through two practices, we considered the significance of school nurses fostering children’s independence in school education. | |||||||||||||||||
