In this report, we examine the career paths of students in the Department of technology education in the Faculty of Education, Kumamoto University, based on a survey of the career aspirations of students who entered the university in the 2006-2020 academic year. As a result, it was found that 146 students have graduated in the past 15 years, and 60% of them are or have been in the teaching profession. It was found that the proportion of students aiming for a teaching career was high at the time of enrolment and declined with each passing year. Students who had been aiming to work in general business or in the civil service from the start of their studies tended to be less likely to change their aims. The proportion of students aiming for a teaching career at the start of their studies was high and decreased with each passing year. Students who had been intending to work for a general company or as a civil servant from the beginning of their studies tended to be less likely to change their aspirations. |
