| 内容記述 | Empathy and attachment styles play important role in human service professionals working with children and youth; however, excessive empathy and inappropriate boundaries can become burdensome for them. Similarly, teachers are required to maintain a balanced level of empathy and appropriate boundaries in their relationships with children and youth. In this study, a questionnaire survey was conducted on a total of 353 individuals, including teachers, child welfare facility workers, and students enrolled in a teacher education program to compare their levels of empathy and attachment styles. The results of a one-way analysis of variance showed that students in teacher education programs generally had higher levels of empathy and fear of abandonment than teachers and child welfare facility workers, while child welfare workers had higher levels of intimacy avoidance. These findings suggest that empathy can be shaped appropriately through actual experiences with children. In addition, they indicate that establishing clear boundaries between work and personal life may be particularly important in the field of child welfare. | |||||||||||
