| 内容記述 | We conducted field visits and interviews to understand examples of barrier-free renovation projects in school facilities across Kumamoto Prefecture and to identify issues to be addressed in promoting such renovation projects.In addition, we interviewed Kumamoto City elementary and junior high schools, which are advanced cases, to understand whether environmental considerations are being made in special-needs classes and other classes. Budgetary issues and lack of appropriate locations for the installation of barrier-free features in existing school buildings were cited as challenges in making school facilities barrier-free.Numerous sound problems affected the facility environment of special-needs classes. Because several teachers teach in the same room, children are unable to concentrate on their lessons. Some teachers also commented that storage space was inadequate. |
