| 内容記述 | To make people living in regions far from volcanoes recognize large-scale volcanic disasters as their own problem, it is necessary to increase interest in volcanoes. Sakurajima volcano, which is active daily, will become good teaching material. The volcano has been continuously active eruptive activity for 70 years since the Minamidake eruption in October 1955. Approximately 3,600 people reside on Sakurajima Island, and about 590,000 people in Kagoshima City, located roughly 4 km west across the Kagoshima-bay, coexist with the volcano. Therefore, the observation of volcanic activity and the atmospheric environment regarding Sakurajima volcano has been enhanced. We have installed fixed-point observation cameras for Sakurajima's volcanic plumes in Tarumizu City and Kagoshima City since 2006. In this paper, we summarize the volcanic plume activity of Sakurajima since 2006 using various materials such as notable eruption videos created from images taken by these cameras, and charts showing time series of ashfall amounts and SO2 concentrations, etc. graphed using observation data from public institutions. | |||||||||||
