Turbulence in the atmospheric surface layer controls the energy interaction between the sea surface and the atmosphere, and thus plays an important role in the formation of the current field and the circulation of subsidence in sea regions. It is found that the Monin-Obukhov similarity theory is applicable to wind speed in the inter-tidal zone despite the heterogeneous and non-stationary surface characteristics.
