| 内容記述 | Liver transplantation (LT) has become an acceptable treatment for many diseases, including familial amyloidotic polyneuropathy (FAP), a genetic metabolic disorder of transthyretin (TTR). A special kind of LT, called domino liver transplantation (DLT), which utilizes the resected livers from patients with FAP and uses them for treatment of some LT cases, has also become an alternative option in many countries. Live donor LT (LDLT) using part of a liver, is very popular in Japan and may induce changes in TTR and influence the post-operative course of post-LT FAP patients and domino recipients. To evaluate this possibility, we performed experiments analyzing the influence of common scenarios in LDLT on TTR metabolism such as immunosuppressant treatment and hepatectomy. |
