| 内容記述 | The field of pharmacogenetics has now celebrated its 50th anniversary. Although science has delivered an impressive amount of information during those years, the field of pharmacogenetics/genomics has suffered due to a lack of sufficient integration into clinical practice. Indeed, commercially available pharmacogenomic tests have been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in recent years, but their application in patient care remains very limited. One reason for this is a shortage of clinical evidence regarding the direct impact of pharmacogenetics/genomics on healthcare. Therefore, this study demonstrated the clinical impact of genetic polymorphisms on both antiepileptic drug (AED) therapy and the susceptibility to airway injury. Pharmacogenomics promises the possibility of performing more personalized medicine in conjunction with individualized health promotion in near future. However, several challenges remain for clinical pharmacologist in order to effectively bring the field of pharmacogenomics into the daily clinical practice of medicine. |
