Although science has\ndelivered an impressive amount of information during those years, the field of\npharmacogenetics/genomics has suffered due to a lack of sufficient integration into clinical practice.\nIndeed, commercially available pharmacogenomic tests have been approved by the US Food and\nDrug Administration (FDA) in recent years, but their application in patient care remains very\nlimited. One reason for this is a shortage of clinical evidence regarding the direct impact of\npharmacogenetics/genomics on healthcare.\nTherefore, this study demonstrated the clinical impact of genetic polymorphisms on both\nantiepileptic drug (AED) therapy and the susceptibility to airway injury.\nPharmacogenomics promises the possibility of performing more personalized medicine in\nconjunction with individualized health promotion in near future.
