| 内容記述 | Previous studies on older people and aging have mainly focused on the retirement life of male employee living in urban and their individual problems. Those studies consider older people as useless, role-less and unproductive. Here, we would like to consider the present situation of older population in aged-rural society in Japan. The main purpose of this study is to make clear that what kind of social roles and functions older people have in a daily life in aged-rural society and discuss differences between general image of older people and their real situation in an aged-rural society. Results of our study show that older people in super-aged rural society have different social positions, roles than general image of older people. They get their social roles in their ordinary daily activities involving farming, going out. And these roles are more realistic, functional and latent than general elderly image have. Also differences between sex and ages are remarkable. Consequently, present results suggest that it is necessary to reconsider the definition of older people at their sixties in super-aged rural society in Japan. |
