| 内容記述 | Recently, unification of kindergartens and nursery schools is being promoted by the Japanese government, in a background of decreased of birth rate and increase of two income couples. Already, 229 institutions had been authorized as Unified Kindergarten and Nursery Schools, "Authorized Pre-Schools," by April, 2008 in Japan, but only one institution in Kumamoto Prefecture. The purpose of this paper is to examine the present condition and problems for unification of kindergartens and nursery school, through questionnaires and interview surveys with kindergartens and nursery schools in Kumamoto Prefecture. For this purpose, we distributed questionnaires on the status of contacts between kindergarten and nursery school, related merits and problems, necessity of "Authorized Pre-School," etc., to the 154 kindergartens and 172 nursery schools in Kumamoto Prefecture. The distribution period was October 17-30, 2007. We distributed 326 questionnaires and received 193 (91 kindergartens and 102 nursery schools) completed questionnaires (59.2% completion rate). We also did interview surveys with six kindergartens and three nursery schools on the actual state of contacts between kindergartens and nursery schools, etc., from November 21 to December 7, 2007. | |||||||||||||||||
