Because people who live in the island go out to Naha City that is the nearest city region to pay traveling expenses to go shopping, and to go to the hospital by itself.\n On the business trip, the island is one of the peripheral regions in which it centers on the city region of Kagoshima, Kagoshima Prefecture. In addition, it is one of the peripheral regions where the Amami City (former Naze City) is assumed to be a secondary center in the prefecture. Because the public office and the enterprise often have high-ranking organizations in the office in the island in Kagoshima City and the Amami City.\n The visitor to the island comparatively has a lot of people who come from the metropolitan area. Next, there are a lot of people who come from Kagoshima, and the people who come from Okinawa is a little.
