| 内容記述 | In 2000，several groups repoted Angiopoetin like protein family 4 (Angptl 4) as one of "angiopoietin-like proteins" (Angptls). Angptls possess an N-terminal coiled-coil domain and a C-terminal, both characteristic of angiopoietins. However, Angptls de not bind to either the angiopoietin receptor Tie2 or the related protein Tie1 and remain orphan ligands. Angiopoietin-like protein family 4 (Angptl 4) has been shown to regulate lipoprotein metabolism through the inhibition of lipoprotein lipase (LPL). However, it is unknown whether Angptl 4 influences the development and progression of atherosclerosis. This study investigated the effect of Angptl 4 on atherosclerosis. | |||||||||||

| 内容記述 | 2000年に複数のグループから報告されたAngiopoetin like protein family 4 （Angptl 4）は、Angiopoietin（Ang）に類似の構造を持ち、Angの受容体であるTie2及びそのファミリー分子であるTie1に結合しない分子群であるAngiopoietin-like proteinファミリーに属する。Angptl 4は、トリグリセライド（TG）を水解するリポ蛋白リバーゼ（LPL）に直接的に結合してLPLを不活性化することで、血清中のTGを上昇させることが分かっている。申請者は、Angptl 4遺伝子欠失（KO）マウスを用い、TG代謝に対するAngptl 4の役割、また動脈硬化症の進展に対する役割を検討した。 | |||||||||||
