Depending on the materials left in Kumamoto, I drew a possible conclusion that the Janes' route to the teacher's house in Furushiro ran along the river bank of the present Tsuboi River, instead of the Shirakawa River, as has been believed so far.Besides, this paper attempts to discuss the background of the establishmemt of the Yo-Gakko and its controversy first, the education including the school schedules, the first operation at the school and the study days for learning the alphabet next, and finally the reason for the closure of the school.This study leads us to a view that the duration of the Kumamoto Yo-Gakko was strongly influenced by the political power and the social situation in those days.}, pages = {61--75}, title = {L.L.ジェーンズ大尉と熊本洋學校 : 教師館までのルート及び熊本洋學校再考}, volume = {8}, year = {2010} }
