| 内容記述 | In Chinese grammar, the word “是” is a verb for judgment and its chief function is not only to explain the meanings but also to judge or emphasize the purposes of sentences. However; the word “的” has a variety of functions, including being a structural verb, auxiliary word, and the component of a noun clause consisting of verb, object and modifier. When “是” and “的” combine together to create a “是～的” clause the word 是 marks the focused element while, the word “的” is always at the end of the sentence. this usage infers an affirmative or an emphasized auxiliary word. This article mainly discusses the focus in terms of the position of “是”・“的”in a “是～的” clause. Additionally, the comparisons of usages of “是”“的”and their equivalents in Taiwanese, Chinese, Mandarin and Japanese are to be analyzed． |
