Relevant information was collected from related agencies and personal through two field surveys conducted in 2000 and 2001. In addition some renewed information was collected from the website of related agencies. It was found that (1) NGOs recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India played an crucial role in teacher training, and (2) teacher training was conducted mainly inside the special schools or institutes as on-the-job training.
