Such programs seem to be needed more in that universities can associate with local communities, contribute to their development by bringing foreign visitors and tourists there, and facilitate cross-cultural understandings among different people of different countries while students can enhance English writing skills through the programs. The purpose of this study is to collect community-based English writing programs at Japanese universities through the Internet, reviewing them to reveal their purposes, contents, and the ways to carried out, as the background of the study is also shown. Because there has been no previous study on this theme, it would be useful for reference to all teachers interested in such activities. The result shows that community-based writing programs are applicable to various subjects, similar to workshops, expected to bring added value more than just English learning. Other resources are also used to make the program well work. It is suggested that community-based English writing programs become widely adopted to contribute to local community development and learners' English writing proficiency.}, pages = {185--198}, title = {大学英語教育における地域発信ライティング授業に関する研究 : 現状と課題}, volume = {9}, year = {2011}, yomi = {ゴトウ, タカアキ} }
