There is only very little information available on cognitive and learning processes in infants with Down syndrome. But we know that learning itself is an active and dynamic process. It is dependent upon a rich background of sensory and motor experiences. It is evident that learning has proceeded best under conditions that provide a wealth of sensory and manipulative experiences.
