| 内容記述 | In this paper, the intention for using the phrase pedagogical tool in the title is not meant in anyway to reduce the importance of the tradition of teaching literature. This wording was selected because the focus of this paper is on the foreign language learning classroom, and how literature can be used as an effective component for language learning. By putting language learning in the forefront, this study looks at the various roles of literature and how it can be integrated into the foreign language learning curriculum by 1) discussing the traditional roles of literature and the integrated role of literature in the context of a foreign language learning classroom, and 2) suggesting techniques for selecting and planning language learning activities based on using a literary text. This study also includes a survey, which was given to students to evaluate their experience from working in a literature course using an integrated approach to language learning. | |||||
