Beecher and Beecher proposed his idea of self -reliance as a central concept. The purpose of this paper is to discuss adherence and extension of Adlerian psychological theory of \"Beyond Success and Failure\" by Beecher and Beecher from the author's experiences of practice for individual-growth. The author suggested following points: (1) Self-reliance is a very important concept. (2) Social interest is an inevitable concept in the Adlerian perspective for mental health and individual-growth.
