| 内容記述 | This study investigated the relationship between outcomes of science learning in school and scientific literacy defined as functional skills in daily life closely related to science and technology. For this purpose. the questionnaire. consisted of the four measures such as (a) awareness if the science learning outcome is useful in daily life. (b) interests in and attitudes towards nature. (c) habits of scientific mind in solving problems. and (d) explanation about the application of science in daily life. was administered. The sample data was collected from the total of 469 students including 133 elementary. 162 lower secondary, 174 upper secondary school students. The results showed that: (1) upper secondary school students tend to see the science learning outcome is less useful in daily life; and (2) they also tend to have less habits of mind in solving problems and less confidence to explain about the scientific application in daily life, although such knowledge as both contents and procedures was supposed to be already obtained at the previous stages in elementary and lower secondary schools. | |||||||||||
