| 内容記述 | Leprosy, because of the social discrimination and prejudice against it, had been said without any medical reason to be an incurable disease. Japan won the war against Russia had been referred to as one of the great powers of the world and proudly had been promoting the extinction policy of leprosy. The leprosy-free prefecture movement in two times before and after World War II as a unified movement had been promoted to strengthen the social and private discrimination against leprosy and to advance the social segregation policy of leprosy patients. I examined here why the segregation policy under the Leprosy Prevention Law could have been maintained during 90 years and also tried to clarify how women could have lived in the leprosy-free-prefecture movement, the actual conditions of women beyond the fences during those decades, through the interviews with them. | |||||
