| 内容記述 | In Japan, agricultural colleges are expected to take an important part in increasing new farmers. However, they are faced with difficulties in assisting the entrance of students into agriculture, especially those students from non-agricultural families. In this paper, these problems are illustrate by analyzing personal interview survey data. Four students of Oita agricultural College were followed during their enrollment and after graduation. Students in this college are either from agricultural families or non-agricultural families, and the number of students from non-agricultural families has been increasing. There are students hoping to become farmers and the college is willing to support. However, the majority of the graduates end up unable to engage in agriculture. This paper argues that the following three mismatches are important factors causing the difficulties in the entrance of students from non-agricultural families into agriculture. | |||||
