| 内容記述 | Subsequent to the enactment of the Act on Advancement of Measures to Support Raising Next-Generation Children (2003), many companies have established action plans in support of the development of future generations of Japanese. On the other hand, as of March 2010 only four companies in Kumamoto Prefecture had been authorized by the Kumamoto Labor Bureau as companies properly qualified to provide such support. The purpose of this paper is to examine current conditions and issues related to measures designed to advance the development of future generations in Kumamoto Prefecture. For these purposes, we conducted surveys with the four authorized companies and eleven non-authorized companies on their action plans on steps to facilitate the development of future generations, on the content of their action plans, quantifiable achievements, etc., from September 1 to December 17, 2010. The results are as follows: 1) the four authorized companies had established their action plans based on action plan guidelines for measures to facilitate the development of future generations provided by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare. It was found that male workers had taken some days off for childcare in those companies. 2) Many non-authorized companies had also devised their action plans by setting up various goals in accordance with their type of business, but no male workers had taken any days off for childcare as yet. We identified the fact that the most influential factor as to whether a company with an action plan can be authorized by the Labor Bureau or not depends on whether or not male workers have taken some days off for childcare. | |||||||||||||||||
