First, through the examination of the RTE Act, it was revealed that there were some discrepancies in the range of educational settings intended for children with special needs. Under the RTE Act, educational setting were limited to schooling, but under the SSA more flexible settings were accepted. This may affect future trends in inclusive education. Secondly, activities under the “Intervention for Disabled Children” scheme of the SSA in Tamil Nadu state were also described.
