| 内容記述 | Harrod regards classical utilitarianism, represented by Bentham, as crude\ utilitarianism. However, he refers to his own utilitarianism as refined utilitarianism. I examine the former as act utilitarianism, while the latter as quasi-rule utilitarianism. The transition from act utilitarianism to rule utilitarianism is partly evident in Harrod's argument. Harrod argues about the generalization of moral judgments by citing Kant's categorical imperative. However, Harrod altered Kant's concept of universality into generality without annotations and clearly identified universality with generality of moral judgments. In this paper, I establish that Kant argues that universality and generality are separate and that Harrod primarily discusses generality as universality, which means he identifies universality with generality. |
