This paper focuses on the ambiguity of the object \"N2\" of gei in the construction type \"N1+gei+N2+V+N3\". \"N2\" is interpreted as the recipient of \"N3(DO)\" if the latter's transfer is implied, otherwise as the recipient of the effect of the event denoted\nby \"V+N3\", which on the whole may be regarded as the object of 'giving' denoted by gei.
