In the meantime, it has been five years since the medical insurance system for the elderly aged 75 or over was implemented in 2009. In Kumamoto, the percentage of the population who are covered by the elderly insurance system is about the fourth, and much public fund is spent to cover medical cost under the insurance system. The increase of the amount has been consistent, but the medical care needs to be appropriately provided to those needing.
