In recent years, unconventional natural gas development that have not been put to practical use to this, by best backup of the Chinese government, it has been intensified towards commercialization in China. In this paper, we discussed preferential policies, development plans, developmental status etc. of the unconventional natural gas in China. On that basis, we discussed how preferential policies of the Chinese government impacts on unconventional gas development. According to the considerations, preferential policies are the driving force for the development of unconventional natural gas and promote the development of unconventional natural gas.
