In addition, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology requires that cancer education should be given with the help of visiting lecture (healthcare professionals such as a school doctor, a cancer specialist, and cancer patients). So far, however, school education with or by visiting lecturer has varied depending upon each school policy or the teacher in charge. This survey was conducted to reveal how much teachers and school children (6th grade) in Kumamoto value cancer education, and what they want to learn from healthcare professionals or cancer patients. It turned out that what they expect from guest cancer specialists or cancer patients varied depending upon the content of lessons regarding cancer.
