内容記述 | Recently, “performance-based assessment” stands out as one of the methods used to evaluate studentsʼ learning with respect to thinking, judgment, presentation, etc. The objective of this paper is to introduce “performance-based assessment” into home economics classes on consumer life and behavior in Japanese junior high schools, and to examine the process of introducing this assessment method and the potentialities and/or actual tasks conducted in conjunction with it. To achieve this objective, we gave lessons on consumer life and behavior to Japanese junior high school students, introducing performance-based assessment with the last lesson. After these lessons, we analyzed and assessed descriptions from the students. The results were as follows : 1) We developed a task for “performance-based assessment” involving buying T-shirts through internet shopping. 2) We developed the rubric for “performance-based assessment” from the viewpoint of buying objects, pigeonholing and analyzing the information on buying, their reasoning, and performance. 3) Over 70% of students could clear the standard point in the task to select the appropriate T-shirt by analyzing information on the T-shirts. According to the questionnaires after the lessons, many students found the “performance-based assessment” task to be easy and interesting. 4) However, only 50% could give a logical explanation for selecting their T-shirt. Our analysis showed that students had difficulty with logical thinking and descriptions. | |||||
