The steps taken as a more experienced teacher (the author), assuming the role of mentor, guided her through the rigorous process of self-reflection are presented. This case study takes an interpretive and exploratory approach by collecting data through the use of action research (AR) a teacher development framework which is interventionist in principle. It is focused on providing a deeper understanding of the realities of in-service JTEs who are activelu trying to pursue their professional development through such things as on-site teacher development projects, co-generative dialogue, and volunteering to participate in research studies like this one.
