The instrument has been translated into a variety of languages including Japanese, for which there is more than one translation. One of these translations was the subject of a confirmatory study by Isemonger (2016) using confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) as the method in an a priori test of the model hypothesized by the original author. The evidence for this model was negative. The analysis reported in this study takes an a posteriori approach to the data, using exploratory factor analysis (EFA) as the method. The analysis explores what the latent structure of scores generated by the instrument may be, given the lack of fit with the model hypothesized by the authors.
