There are many theoretical issues with an ethic of care, but in this paper, I shall focus on the following point, as the caring relation is fundamental to an ethic of care. That is, because of the asymmetry in capability between the one-caring and the cared-for, the one-caring in the care relation is always in danger of exploitation, and it is inevitable for the one-caring to behave paternalistically toward the cared-for.
