Are the commons just disappearing, or are there other outcomes in this process? By referring to a rarely cited paper by G. Hardin I'm sketching the general economic principles and political implications to the contemporary commons as seen in the village Minami-aso to finally try some hypotheses about certain phenomena observed there during my long-term field work there.},
