Specifically, workshops were conducted in the Himedo and Ryugatake districts of Kami-Amakusa City, Kumamoto Prefecture, which were depopulation, low birthrate, and aging population are severe, with the participation of local residents, city hall staff, and students from the local Kami-Amakusa High School. In the workshop, while learning about the concept of SDGs and social innovation, the participants made proposals for sustainable community development rooted in the local identity.
