English communication ability needs to be measured at several stages of leaning and evaluated by various data concerning students' English ability and skills; therefore, continuous assessment is essential. The English department at the Attached Junior High School assigns about 50% of the final grade to continuous assessment. A meaningful interaction activity called '1minute chat' was incorporated into class as away for both motivating students toward communication and monitoring their English communication continuously.
