purpose of this paper is to consider the learning contents of \"lifelong human development\" on homemaking education in high school in Japan by means of analyzing college students' consciousness of learning needs on three lifestages by sex and family types in future.\nFor this purpose, we distributed a questionnaire of \"learning needs on three lifestages\" to college students of the Faculty of Education in Kumamoto University, and analyzed the data statistically.\nThe results are as follows: 1) The learning needs of female students were higher than those of male students at 27 items, for example, human and food, nutrition and meal, and so on. 2) On the other hand, the differences by sex were not so notable in the fields of human's whole life and family/home, living and welfare of the old, and consumer living and resource environment. 3) The differences by family types in future were remarked at 31 items on a significant level. 4) Learning needs were highest in the fields of child development and nursery, and family life and welfare, when they become 35 years old and they are bringing up their children. 5) Learning needs were highest in the fields of living and welfare of the old, and consumer living and resource environment, when they become 70 years old and live
