Three stages of appreciation of art are those of "seeing", "knowing" and "thinking" In the stage of "seeing" the sixth grade pupils of Kamishikimi Primary School see each picture of "Four Seasons" the theme of which is not told them by the teacher. Not knowing what is the theme of Arcimboldo's painting, they detect many motifs as components of Arcimboldo's queer portraits. In the stage of "knowing" they are given some information about Arcimboldo's way of composition and manner of cyclic execution such as "Four Elements". In the stage of "thinking" they infer the right theme of Arcimboldo's painting from the information given to them. Moreover, they succeed to detect another meaning hidden under the "Four Seasons" which might be "Four Stages of Ages".}, pages = {25--34}, title = {鑑賞学実践研究4 : アルチンボルド作「四季」}, volume = {20}, year = {2003}, yomi = {ヨシカワ, ノボル and ノガミ, マサシ} }
