In this study, the authors describe a training program for educators conducted in “The Project for Strengthening Education for Children with Special Needs through Inclusive Education Approach in Sri Lanka,” implemented by JICA(Japan International Cooperation Agency)in conjunction with the Ministry of Education. A two-day seminar was held in the four National Colleges of Education in Sri Lanka from December 2021 through July 2022. To provide educators with a wide range of understanding and knowledge, ten activities were planned (each 45 minutes long), including time for interpretation from English to Sinhalese/Tamil. Due to the COVID-19, all lectures were previously recorded and provided by video. At the Jaffna National College of Education(JNCoE), one of the four colleges selected, a seminar was held in July 2022. Eighty-seven percent of educators attended, despite the severe shortage of the fuel caused by the current economic crisis. The Questions-and-Answer sessions during the two-day seminar were lively. Questionnaire results revealed that the educators at the JNCoE who attended the seminar responded positively regarding job satisfaction and understanding of inclusive education. However, the respondents did request more hands-on workshops and use of videos for future events.
